Hand set and hand printed using early wooden type, sourced from Dublin, Auckland(NZ) and small Abbey style metal type from Oxford UK. The very intricate corners are attributed to 'Miller and Richards' type founders UK - circa 1870's- sourced in Scotland
Drawing inspiration from the notorious highwayman Richard Turpin aka 'Dick Turpin'. Legend has it that a publican in Leytonstone had his horse Whitestockings stolen by Turpin and taken to Bethnal Green. The publican got a tip off and managed to recover the horse. Turpin killed his own accomplice during the horse reclamation bid!
