Hand printed letterpress at A4 Landscape 210x297mm, 270gsm Recycled Paper Stock, Recycled vintage black printers ink. Open edition
I always liked the line from Crocodile Dundee ‘you call that a knife’. In this case it’s a machete, from a very old and now defunct, Sheffield cutlery manufacturer. This original idea had been milling around for a while, though it took me several years of type-hunting to acquire an ‘italic-grotesque’ wooden typeface in a suitable size. The age of the machete printing block and woodtype is circa 1880-1910. Of particular interest is the reverse curve of the blade - possibly for harvesting sugar-cane?
